INTENSIVE ENGLISH COURSES
Intensive courses are one-on-one or small classes which are customized to the specific needs of the individual student.
1) General English Intensive
Each course is custom-designed to meet the needs of the student. The course can be grammar-oriented or focus on skills such as listening, reading, writing and speaking or on vocabulary or any other specific requirement. Each student receives individual attention in order to fast-track development of expertise in English.
2) Pre-IELTS Course
This course is designed for students who aim to take the IELTS course in the future, but who need to develop their English skills to meet the minimum requirements for IELTS course entry.
3) IELTS Course
The course is designed for students at intermediate level and above who wish to take the IELTS test. The course progressively develops skills and language for each test paper by dealing with the four IELTS papers one by one, including the academic or general training modules as required by the student. The course provides extensive practice material for the test: exam-type exercises are a regular feature and we provide helpful advice on how to approach each section. The course uses the highly-regarded Cambridge University Press IELTS preparation text Insight into IELTS as well as a range of supplementary materials.
4) TOEFL Course
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is used by many North American colleges and universities, as well as a large number of other institutions, to evaluate a non-native speaker's proficiency in English. The King's College TOEFL course focuses on extensive skill-building exercises covering all question types on the exam. A comprehensive grammar review and writing skill program is included in the course, and exam-oriented listening materials are used extensively. The Course uses a variety of materials including the Cambridge Preparation for the TOEFL Test.
5) Key Stage and IGCSE
King's College offers tutoring for Key Stage and IGCSE subjects including English, Maths and Science. Fully qualified tutors using up-to-date study materials and techniques to make learning productive, interesting and fun.
6) Interview Preparation
Students who are preparing for school or university entrance or employment interviews will benefit greatly from King's Interview Preparation Course. This intensive course concentrates on both language and cultural issues to give students an edge in this highly competitive environment.
